Grand Prix: installation of grandstand
After a year of 2020 deprived of motor racing on the circuit – the events having been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic – the Principality is resuming its habits and preparing its change to exceptionally host three Grands Prix from April 23 to May 23, 2021.
The 2021 edition promises to be exceptional. 3 events are planned: in addition to the traditional Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix (and its ancillary events), the Historic Monaco Grand Prix and the Monaco E-Prix will be held the same year when they usually play alternation .
To accommodate this program of choice, the installation of the installations, which begins 7 weeks before the first events, is brought forward by a fortnight since the Grand Prix Historique 2021 will take place on April 23, 2021.
In addition to the annual asphalt campaigns, the preparatory work for the installation of the infrastructure necessary for safety, development, television broadcasts, public reception, advertising but also dedicated accesses and public paths will begin on February 22, 2021 with the removal of street furniture carried out by the Department of Urban Planning (DAU).
The assembly work and the related restrictions will begin on February 23 in the port area and on March 31 in the Monte-Carlo district.
The necessary adjustments to traffic as well as the parking bans will be implemented and gradually lifted depending on the area.
Secure pedestrian paths will be established by the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM), with manual control in certain sensitive areas.
For the needs of the installations, the MonaBike station at Place Sainte-Dévote will be moved to the Promenade Honoré II from March 12, 2021 and that of the Parking des Pêcheurs to another location of this structure yet to be defined, from April 16 2021.
Finally, users of Public Parkings as well as those of the Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco (CAM) and Azur lines will be specifically informed of the measures that will be applicable to each phase of the installation of structures.
The 12th Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, 4th Monaco E-Prix and 78th Grand Prix Automobile de Monaco will take place respectively from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 April 2021, Saturday 8 May 2021 and from Thursday 20 to Sunday 23 May 2021.
